MovieSwipe Privacy Policy

This policy explains how MovieSwipe ("MovieSwipe", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the MovieSwipe mobile application and related services.

Information We Process

Depending on the features you use, we may process:

• Movie activity and preferences: movies you like, dislike, save, or mark as watched; selected genres, streaming providers, and region.
• Feature content: prompts you submit to AI-powered discovery and a display name, room code, and votes when you use Movie Night.
• Purchase information: subscription status and purchase history supplied by Apple, together with an app-specific user identifier used to provide paid features and restore purchases.
• Usage data: interactions with the app, device and operating-system information, app version, and approximate technical information such as IP address.

MovieSwipe does not request precise location, contacts, photos, camera, or microphone access.

How We Use Information

We use information to operate and personalize movie discovery, synchronize your private movie lists, provide Movie Night and AI-powered discovery, manage free-use limits and subscriptions, restore purchases, prevent abuse, maintain security and reliability, understand feature usage, and improve the app.

Services That Process Information

We use service providers only where needed to operate MovieSwipe:

• Apple iCloud and CloudKit to synchronize private app data and support Movie Night.
• RevenueCat to manage subscription entitlements and purchase status.
• Firebase Analytics to understand aggregated app usage and improve features.
• Cloudflare to host and protect backend services.
• OpenAI to process prompts submitted to AI-powered discovery.
• XMDb and movie-data providers to retrieve movie information and availability.

These providers process information under their own privacy terms and our service arrangements. Information may also be disclosed when required by law, to protect users or our rights, or in connection with a business transfer.

No Sale or Cross-App Tracking

We do not sell personal information. MovieSwipe does not use your information to track you across apps or websites owned by other companies for advertising.

Storage and Retention

Movie activity and preferences are retained while needed to provide the service, until you reset or delete the relevant data, remove it from iCloud, or ask us to delete it. Movie Night rooms are designed to expire after 24 hours. Purchase records may be retained by Apple and RevenueCat as needed to provide subscriptions and meet legal obligations. Analytics and technical records are retained according to the applicable service provider's retention settings and only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above.

Your Choices and Rights

• You can change streaming preferences and other app settings at any time.
• You can turn notifications off in iOS Settings.
• You can use Settings > Delete My Data in MovieSwipe to delete the private movie records covered by that control.
• You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple account's subscription settings.
• You can stop further collection by uninstalling the app.

For access, correction, deletion, or other privacy requests relating to information not covered by the in-app control, contact us at movieswipecontact@gmail.com. We may need to verify your request.

Children

MovieSwipe is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can take appropriate action.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

International Processing

Our service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, appropriate safeguards are used for international transfers.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as MovieSwipe changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated. Material changes will be communicated where required.
